The signs of His coming

FEED MY SHEEP DEVOTIONAL By Pastor Seth  *HE IS COMING, PLEASE BE READY (Part 2)*   *The Signs of His Coming*  Matthew 24:3 *“As he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming…?”*  It’s a fact that Christ Jesus is coming again. Although we do not know the time or date but he told us to look out for some signs that will be pointers to the nearness of his return. Luke 21:31 *“Even so, when you see these things taking place, understand and know that the kingdom of God is at hand.”*  But why the signs?  • *God desires that we get to heaven.* He invested so much in Christ’s redemptive work that it amounts to nothing if we fail to make it. Jesus said *“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”* (Luke 12:32). The signs are to heighten our expectation of Jesus' return. • *To get us ready and pr...

He's coming, please be ready Part 1

FEED MY  SHEEP DEVOTIONAL By Pastor Seth  *HE IS COMING, PLEASE BE READY (Part 1)*   *“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”* (Matthew 24:44) Very soon the wait will be over, time will be no more and the promised Christ will return. The story is not new. Jesus is coming to rapture his children to heaven where they rightly belong. Two things are evident in the verse above:  a. He’s coming when we least expect; at the time, day, month and year we think not. He’s coming but we *“… know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”* (Matthew 25:13). His coming will be: • Unexpected. Unexpected not because we do not know he is coming, but because we did not know it will happen on that day. We know he is coming. It may not be today. But he will come some day and soon.  • Sudden. The world on that day will go about the business of buying and selling. The sinners will still be sinners. The...

Increase more and more

FEED MY SHEEP DAILY DEVOTIONAL Pastor Seth                INCREASE MORE AND MORE “May the Lord give you increase more and more, You and your children.” (Psalms 115:14) Everyone desires to increase, to grow and to make progress in the good things of life. We abhor stagnation, retardation and negativity. What we desire is truly what God wants for us. Everything that adds value to our life is important to God. Our prosperity in all things is his goal. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2) In our main text above, few points are worthy of note: 1.       It is the Lord that gives increase. Many people say it’s hard work, smart thinking, connections, luck etc. Some of them might be helpful, but ultimately, increase comes from God. “I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow.” (1 Corin...
FEED MY SHEEP DAILY DEVOTIONAL Pastor Seth The Christian (Part 2) We know by scripture that the Christian is the individual whose sins have been washed away by the eternal blood of Jesus (Heb. 9:14). The washing away of sin is not an end in itself. It is the beginning of a life long journey of living for God. Salvation or born again or redemption brought the Christian to the kingdom for a reason and to a lifestyle. It is a complete aberration if any other lifestyle dominates a professing christian. Why did you become a Christian?  a. *It is so you can become a child of God* . _“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”_ (John 1:12). It simply means you were a child of someone before you became a child of God. Jesus said it was the devil: _“Your father is the devil. You are his child(ren), and you want to do what your father wants…_ (John 8:44 CEB). At salvation, you changed who your father is. You n...
FEED MY SHEEP                   DAILY DEVOTIONAL                The Christian (Part 1) The Christian is that person who has willingly surrendered his or her life to Jesus. It is an experience Jesus referred to as born again (John 3:3). It occurs when the heart of a man is completely transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit through the blood of Jesus which cleanses the heart and washes away sin. When this happens, the man is made a new creature and his old life style of sin ends. His conduct changes, his desire is made anew and his focus is drawn away from the world to Jesus.  _“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”_ (2 Corinthians 5:17).  The Christian becomes a new person not by resolutions, religious activities or generosity towards...

Walking with God

Walking with God is what each of us is called to do. It is a great privilege and uncommon honour to walk with the God of the universe.  We didn't just fall from somewhere, we were made, created for a reason and that reason  is for you and I to have a walking relationship with our Maker. Revelation 4:11  "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." We were made to give him pleasure. This means our life brings joy and satisfaction to God. Anything less than this is the abuse of creation. When we decide to walk with God, we are DELIBERATELY deciding to use our resources and through our conduct to bring pleasure to him. Isaiah 43:21 "This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise." Walking with God means we are fulfilling the purpose for our creation. We do this by showing forth our praise to God. Praise is expressing our respect and g...
