               INCREASE MORE AND MORE

“May the Lord give you increase more and more, You and your children.”

(Psalms 115:14)

Everyone desires to increase, to grow and to make progress in the good things of life. We abhor stagnation, retardation and negativity. What we desire is truly what God wants for us. Everything that adds value to our life is important to God. Our prosperity in all things is his goal.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2)

In our main text above, few points are worthy of note:

1.      It is the Lord that gives increase. Many people say it’s hard work, smart thinking, connections, luck etc. Some of them might be helpful, but ultimately, increase comes from God.

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6 GNT)

In the matter of increase, promotion and growth, human efforts are necessary no doubt, but the ultimate work of blessing our efforts is God. Without his own work, all human works or labours come to naught. It is he who gives the increase.

“For promotion cometh … from…God…he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” (Psalms 75:6-7).

2.      The increase that God gives is more and more. It is for a life time and continues to generations unborn. The blessings of God to his people are abundant, lasting and without sorrows.

“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.” (Isaiah 60:22)

God is planning much more than you can imagine. No matter how little or small you are at the moment, God has promised you a phenomenal increase and growth. At the moment, your road may not be leading you there, your talent may be grossly inadequate and in your sphere of relationship, no one has the influence to lift you to the abundance that you crave for. But the good Lord has promised you more and more of every good thing. Believe it to receive it.

“…I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.” (Jeremiah 30:19)

3.      It is for the family. The blessings of abundance is for the whole family. It is to you but covers everyone that belongs to you. It was to Abraham, to Isaac and Jacob and then to you, child of God.

“For the promise is unto you, and to your children...” (The Acts 2:39)

The blessing is not complete when everyone that is yours is not enjoying it. Everything is wrong if the blessing is not reflecting on your spouse and children. The blessings of Abraham was seen on Isaac. The increase of Joseph reflected on his siblings. Every blessing that is hedged in by selfishness and greed will soon be gone.

“I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.” (Genesis 17:7 NIV)

God cares for your family much more than you know.

4.      It is by prayer. “May the Lord give you increase…”. As you go about doing your best, let this be your daily prayer and confession: “May the Lord give me increase more and more in Jesus name”. You are made for more “…above all that (you) ask or think, according to the power that worketh in (you)” (Ephesians 3:20)
